Zanzibar - Consultancy Services for Design, Procurement Support and Supervision of SCADA/EMS/OMS System
The expected activities under the proposed SCADA/EMS/OMS investments include the design, supply, and installation, and commissioning of the SCADA, including an EMS to enhance ZECO’s oversight and control of network operations. The main objective of the SCADA/EMS/OMS investments is to improve network reliability, data acquisition, employee/public safety, and the control and dispatch of the VRE power generation and BESS. The proposed SCADA/EMS/OMS investments will support the necessary hardware and software; communication infrastructure; and a fully equipped control center and will cover all relevant network elements/nodes between 11 kV and 132 kV, inclusive. The SCADA/EMS/OMS will be equipped with the neces-sary data protection facilities to protect it from the threat of unauthorised external access and cybercrime.

Phase 1:
- Develop functional specifications and prepare preliminary designs for the proposed SCADA/EMS/OMS and control center
- Design the communication layout and configuration using appropriate telecommunication links for be-tween various grid installations
- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on the preliminary designs for discussion with the Client
- Conduct an economic and financial analysis of the proposed SCADA/EMS/OMS
- Prepare bidding documents for the proposed SCADA/EMS/OMS in line with World Bank procurement reg-ulations
- Support the Client during the entire procurement process for the supply and installation contractor who will design, manufacture, supply, install, test and commission the proposed SCADA/EMS/OMS system. The support under Phase 1 will end upon finalization of contract award for the supply and installation of the proposed SCADA/EMS/OMS system
- Facilitate transfer of knowledge and skills to the Client’s technical staff during Phase 1
Phase 2:
- Review all the detailed designs prepared by the contractor/suppliers and issue approval prior to manufac-turing, supply, and installation of equipment
- Attend factory acceptance tests (FATs) of all major SCADA/EMS/OMS equipment on behalf of the Client. This will be done in conjunction with nominated Client counterparts
- Project manage, supervise, monitor, and report on SCADA/EMS/OMS activities to the Client and other key stakeholders
- Certify works progress and payment requests by the contractor/suppliers
- Review and recommend for approval any additional scope of work and extension of time required for successful completion and operation of the SCADA/EMS/OMS investments
- Participate in the witnessing of the SCADA/EMS/OMS commissioning activities and ensure that all rele-vant operation and maintenance manuals and as-built drawings are submitted to the Client as required by the supply/installation contract
- Support Client to ensure effective transfer of knowledge and skills by the contractor to the Client’s tech-nical staff during the design, manufacturing, supply and installation of the SCADA/EMS/OMS investments
- Respond to requests for support from Client on any issues and questions that may arise during the Defects Liability Period (DPL), which is expected to be twelve (12) months after commissioning and hand-over of the SCADA/EMS/OMS investments to the Client

The P.R. of Bangladesh received a loan from KfW Development Bank for the "Energy Efficiency in Grid Based Power Supply Project". The objective of this project is to increase the reliability and efficiency of the electricity supply in the Bangladesh through expanding and improving the 230 and 132 kV power transmission systems of PGCB. Technical measures under the project include the following:

Pakistan plans to develop hydropower potential, with a focus on exploring the Indus River catchment. Dasu Hydropower Project (DHP) is in its most advanced stages of development, and the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) needs to provide the infrastructure to evacuate power generated by DHP and other downstream hydropower plants to be installed along the river Indus. For this purpose, the following technical measures will be implemented under the present project:
- construction of one 765 kV double-circuit transmission line of 140 km length from Dasu Hydropower to Mansehra Substation,
- construction of one 765 kV double-circuit transmission line of 110 km length from Mansehra Substation to Islamabad West Substation,

Ethiopia - Addis Ababa Transmission & Distribution System Rehabilitation & Upgrading Project
An Addis Ababa Distribution Master Plan (AADMP) was elaborated to identify a number of rehabilitation, short-term and medium-term subprojects to be undertaken until 2022 and 2034 respectively. These subprojects are summarised in the ‘Addis Ababa Transmission & Distribution System Rehabilitation & Upgrading Project (AATDRUP)’. They have been allocated into four suitable contract packages.

Iraq - German Credit Facility to Assist the Return of IDPs in Iraq (GCFI) – Management and Monitoring Consultant
Rebuilding territories liberated from terrorist activities constitutes a priority to the Iraqi government as part of its overall objective of long-term recovery and stabilisation. The overarching objective of the GCFI is to contribute to the permanent return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their home locations in Iraq. To this end, the GCFI will support investments into the restoration of local economic and social infrastructure. The programme will cover interventions in the energy, water/sanitations, roads/bridges, education and health sectors, with an initial focus on energy, water/sanitation and roads/bridges.
Major tasks of the Management and Monitoring Consultant (MC) are:- Support ReFAATO in setting up the programme’s monitoring system
- Capacitate the Project Management Teams (PMT) at the relevant Line Ministries in their role as PIAs, especially prior to the engagement of the GCFI Technical Implementation Consultant (TIC)
Under the programme, intec provides services for the monitoring of investment package implementation in the field of energy, particularly for the following projects:
- Rehabilitation of one 400/132/11 kV, 4 x 250 MVA GIS substation
- Construction of two new 132/33 kV, 3 x 63 MVA GIS substations
- Construction of two new 33/11 kV, 3 x 31.5 MVA distribution substations
- Construction of one new 154 km 132 kV double-circuit transmission line
- Rehabilitation of one 132/33 kV, 3 x 63 MVA GIS substation and three 132/33/11 kV AIS substations
- Supply of three 132/33/11 kV, 3 x 63 MVA power transformers
- Supply of eight 33/11 kV, 31.5 MVA mobile substations, five 33/11 kV, 31.5 MVA power transformers
- Supply of distribution transformers 11/0.4 kV, different power ratings, distribution kiosks and accessories

Serbia - Supervising Engineer for the Supply and Installation Project "Electrical Equipment for the Reaction in Emergency Situations" in the Republic of Serbia
The purpose of this supervision contract is to provide EPS (Elektroprivreda Srbije) with the necessary assistance in the coordination, supervision, project and site management of three supply contracts.
The technical equipment to be installed under the project includes the following:
- One mobile transformer substation 110/35 kV, 20 MVA (Lot 1)
- Three mobile transformer substations 35/10 kV, 8 MVA (Lot 2)
- One remote monitoring and control system for the MV distribution grid in the area of Elektrosrbija Kraljevo (Lot 3).

An Addis Ababa Distribution Master Plan (AADMP) was elaborated to identify a number of rehabilitation, short-term and medium-term subprojects to be undertaken until 2022 and 2034 respectively. These subprojects are summarised in the ‘Addis Ababa Transmission & Distribution System Rehabilitation & Upgrading Project (AATDRUP)’. They have been allocated into four suitable contract packages.
The present project covers Package-III: Short- and Medium-Term Project (Substation and Transmission), which includes the upgrading of 11 existing substations (7.5/15/33/45 kV), the construction of one new 132/33/15 kV GIS substation, and the construction of a number of 132 kV double-circuit overhead lines, 33 kV feeder lines, and 132 kV underground cables.
