Madagascar - Renewable Energies Programme (PERER)
The GIZ Programme “Promotion of Electrification through Renewable Energies Programme” (PERER) aims to improve the framework conditions and regulations for private and public investment in electrification through renewable energy.
In this context, PERER together with the Malagasy Women Entrepreneur Association (Groupement des Femmes Entrepreneurs de Madagascar - GFEM) have initiated this project to strengthen the capacity of GFEM members in renewable energy and the positioning of women in this sector. It is also expected that the beneficiaries of the training programme will act as catalysts for the identification of energy efficiency measures and implementation of renewable energy solutions within their small or medium enterprises (SME).
Two workshops will be organised to inform women on the technologies linked to renewable energy and energy efficiency, as well as the related opportunities. In addition, three GFEM members will be selected and benefit from an energy audit to identify possible energy saving measures in their respective companies.
intec's services
In close cooperation with the GFEM and the team of GIZ-PERER, the following services are provided:
- Inform women entrepreneurs during a two-day workshop about the opportunities arising from the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency in Madagascar.
- Strengthen the capacity of GFEM members during a four-day workshop focused either on (i) solar energy, (ii) biomass-to-energy, or (iii) energy efficiency. For each technology, the module will deepen the following topics: technological potential and challenges, best practices, market needs, the creation of business plans and the risks involved.
- Design the selection criteria of SMEs which will benefit from the energy audit, score the applications and select three applicants.
- Conduct energy audits in the three enterprises using concrete proposals for a sustainable, efficient and effective management of energy use in each company in order to identify opportunities for optimal use of energy.
