Georgia - 500 kV Jvari - Tskaltubo Overhead Transmission Line and Associated Substations

Georgia has set out a 10-year transmission network development plan. The construction of a new double-circuit 500 kV OHTL Jvari - Tskaltubo (about 70 km) and the construction of a new 500 kV switchyard in Tskaltubo Substation are among the top priority projects of this plan. 


The present assignment aims at providing engineering, design and procurement support ser-vices to the Project Implementing Agency/the Client GSE to ensure timely implementation of the project.

  • Review of the existing project concept/preliminary design, cost estimates and schedule
  • Preparation of tender documents, including technical specifications, for international competitive bidding (ICB) to select turnkey contractors for the works, using the ‘Standard Bidding Documents’ issued by the World Bank
  • Preparation of bid evaluation reports, assistance in contract negotiations and preparation of con-tract documents
