Strengthening Grid Stability for Uganda's Vision 2040

We are pleased to announce our partnership with the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL), marking a significant step in supporting Uganda’s energy transition. Over the next six months, we will conduct a Comprehensive System Stability and Security Study to enhance the country’s power grid and support its Vision 2040 goals.

Our Approach:

  • Comprehensive Network Study: Conducting a detailed analysis of Uganda’s transmission and distribution grid.
  • Stability and Security Assessments: Evaluating the stability and security of the national grid.
  • Impact Analysis of Large Hydropower Plants: Assessing the impact of large hydropower plants like Karuma (600 MW) and upcoming energy projects (generation, transmission, and critical distribution) on the grid.
  • Solutions for Renewable Energy Integration: Providing solutions to accommodate intermittent renewable energy while maintaining grid stability.

The goal of this project is to support Uganda’s Vision 2040 by ensuring a stable and secure grid capable of meeting increasing energy demands and integrating new power sources. Additionally, the project aims to enable efficient short- to medium-term network planning, enhancing the grid’s capacity and resilience through:

  • Comprehensive data collection
  • Advanced technical studies
  • Hands-on capacity building

This partnership represents a pivotal contribution to Uganda’s ambition of achieving upper-middle-income status by 2040. Through the development of thorough grid studies, we are committed to fostering a resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure that supports long-term economic growth and development.
