Mobile substations for Serbia’s state power utility

Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia H.E. Mr. Sem Fabrizi handed four mobile substations over to Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) on special mobile substation handover ceremony held in Belgrade, Serbia on 25.04.2019. intec’s supervising engineer team successfully led the coordination, supervision and management of the designing and manufacturing of one mobile substation 110/35kV and three mobile substations 35/10kV from 15.01.2019 to 14.02.2019.

Part of the EU donation to be used in the power distribution segment is worth EUR 9 million. In addition to the procurement of the four mobile substations, it will also finance the development of remote control and monitoring of the medium-voltage distribution network in Kraljevo, which was the hardest-hit place in Serbia during the 2014 floods.

The largest of the four mobile substations was produced at a renowned multinational technology company in Italy, soaking around EUR 1.4 million of the EU donation. This 110/35 kV, 20 MVA, 70-tonne substation is mounted on a 20-meter trailer and its equipment is easy to install.

The other three, 35/10 kV, 8 MVA substations were produced by a well-known Serbian manufacturer, with a total value of around EUR 1.8 million, will be deployed in the Kraljevo, Niš, and Kragujevac distribution areas.

In regular operations after final reconstruction of the existing substation, the mobile substations will be used as substitute capacities.
