Lake Kossou - 20 MWp floating PV project
LAKE KOSSOU Project: Owner’s engineer mission for the construction of a 20MWp floating photovoltaic installation located in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire
We are delighted to announce that the joint venture formed by intec and RINA was recently awarded the Owner’s Engineer assignment to implement the Kossou project. The 20MWp floating PV project, developed by CI-Energies through funding via the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), consists of a modular installation of 4 floating blocks of 5MWp. Said lake is a retention lake of the hydroelectric dam with the same name.
intec attaches particular interest to this project considering the fact that the project, once commissioned, will be the first floating PV plant of this size to be constructed in the region. The concept of floating solar parks has gained increasing momentum in recent years; especially floating parks installed on the reservoirs of existing hydroelectric dams.
Intec’s mission for this project consists of:
- Accompanying the project owner CI-Energies
- Covering the procurement process
- Supervision of the construction and plant installation including commissioning
The planned project duration of the assignment is 20 months. intec will provide technical assistance later on to the Owner during the first two years of the plant’s operation corresponding to the warranty period.
