In the light of intec’s consultancy project and support Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAoL) under the GIZ overall program ’Support for renewable energies as a contribution to conflict resilience in the energy sector’, intec had the opportunity to give a 3-day training workshop to REAoL in Tunisia.

This training is considered to be an integral part of consulting services intec is providing to identify suitable sites in Libya for establishment of PV power plants. The training took place in November 2023 with attendance for several esteemed colleagues from REAoL.

The training covered presentation of insight into the site demarcation process from technical and regulatory perspectives, into lessons learnt from Consultant's experience and into topographical analysis results for one of the sites based on REAoL’s selection. Also, an important part of the meeting was the specific training to support topographical related site works based on open source tools. Altogether, this gave the opportunity for extensive discussions among the participants in how to adapt such lessons learnt to the current situation in Libya.

As a next step, intec is going to finalize the topographical analysis to have a clear view about the suitability of the site under investigation of establishment of PV power plants to have a proper delineation of the site and preliminary design and. This will lead to conducting the geotechnical analysis which will be an important factor in finalizing the design for the PV power plants.
