Advancing Energy Solutions for a Sustainable Bangladesh
intec is set to play a crucial role in Bangladesh's energy sector development by supporting the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB). This commitment is underscored by a newly signed agreement for the 'Madunaghat – Bhulta 765kV Transmission Line Project (UHV),' funded by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
The project aims to assess the viability of one of Bangladesh's first 765 kV transmission line systems to significantly enhance the nation’s energy transmission capabilities. Additionally, it seeks to facilitate efficient bulk power delivery from southern Bangladesh to key load centers across the nation, improving overall energy reliability and security.
Over the next three years, intec will conduct an extensive feasibility study covering technical, economic, financial, environmental, and social aspects. The company will also prepare tender documents and oversee the tendering process.
To achieve these goals, intec will perform technical due diligence and market/demand analyses to identify interconnection capacity. System planning studies and preliminary line route surveys will be conducted, along with engineering studies and preliminary design for a 250 km stretch of key infrastructure. System protection, communication, and control studies will be executed, and comprehensive assessments including economic, financial, social, institutional, regulatory, legal, and environmental impacts will be carried out. Furthermore, a procurement plan and delivery strategy will be developed, with support provided throughout the tendering phases.
