Training course organised by intec for Rwandan energy institutions

Within the ongoing project “Capacity Building Programs and Technical assistance to strengthen the energy sector in Rwanda”, an intec team of economists and financial specialists organised a training session for Rwandan participants on the subject “Financial Analysis of Energy Projects”. The training course was held from 12 to 30 June 2017 and covered topics of economic and financial analysis, investments in renewable energies and energy efficiency, tariffs for power transmission, distribution and thermal generation as well as financial accounting in the Energy Sector. Furthermore, a site visit at a Biopark and a Small Hydropower Plant near Göttingen in Germany provided practical insight into viable technical and economic solutions for small power generation.

The project foresees technical assistance missions for the development of new tools and processes as well as trainings in Rwanda and trainings abroad for the two main energy institutions MININFRA and REG. For the majority of the trainings in Rwanda and abroad, intec was able to provide trainers from within its in-house staff members.
